 Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre has revealed the activities of the 33rd edition of  Abu Dhabi International Book Fair. Here are the key details:

  1. The fair will take place from April 29th to May 5th at the ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi (ADNEC), under the theme “Where The World’s Tales Unfold”.
  2. This year’s edition will host the Arab Republic of Egypt as the guest of honor.
  3. The renowned Arab novelist and writer Naguib Mahfouz is the central figure of this edition.
  4. The fair will welcome 1,350 publishers from 90 countries, including 140 participating for the first time.
  5. Over 375 local exhibitors will present their latest releases.
  6. More than 2,000 activities covering various cultural and intellectual fields will be held.
  7. The integrated digital payment system will be implemented for the first time.
  8. China will participate significantly this year with nine pavilions, making it the largest presence at any book fair worldwide.
  9. The fair introduces the “World Books” hub, with Abdullah Ibn al-Muqaffa “Kalila and Dimna” chosen as the highlighted book.
  10. A series of debates following the renowned Oxford-style format will be held.
  11. For the first time, the fair will host ”Thmanyah” from Saudi Arabia, featuring CEO Abdulrahman Abumalih.
  12. The fair will also organize, for the first time, the “Arabic Content Forum for Children and Adolescents,” targeting authors, illustrators, publishers, and creatives in this sector.
  13. An exceptional experience awaits visitors with the popular book markets: “The Azbakeya Market,” reminiscent of the ancient market in Egypt.
  14. A cinema corner will be set up, featuring cinematic presentations and creative workshops for all ages, organized by the Creative Media Authority.
