Sponsored by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center and Media Chinese International limited the event also includes participation from 10 Arab publishing houses and 10 Chinese publishing houses.

The Arab Republic of Egypt is honored as the first Arab country to be hosted as the Guest of Honor at the fair, reaffirming the deep-rooted relations between the UAE and Egypt. For the first time in book fairs, a new focus on world books has been introduced to highlight humanity’s most significant literary works throughout history, presenting them to new generations. This year’s featured book is “Kalila and Dimna” by Abdullah ibn al-Muqaffa, whose influence has extended across cultures and eras. The program dedicated to world books focuses on the literary genre of fables, encompassing rare and timeless narratives.

For the third consecutive year, the exhibition will feature a debate program, with the new addition this year being the organization and management of debates modeled after the globally renowned Oxford style. This marks the first time such debates are held in the Arab world, providing a unique platform for intellectual discourse and exchange.

The events also include organizing poetry nights,

The event will also host Arab, regional, and international publishing houses, alongside offering a comprehensive cultural and knowledge program covering various cultural, professional, educational, creative, and entertainment aspects. This program will feature activities, lectures, panel discussions, and specialized workshops with the participation of a select group of writers and intellectuals. These efforts aim to enhance the publishing sector and creative industries, strengthen the capabilities of local and Arab publishers, and open up new horizons for them.

The new features at Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2024 include exhibitor services and engagements, such as the adoption of a digital payment system. This initiative arises from market demand and a desire to provide digital services that align with the significant advancements in the country’s business sector. It also aligns with the digital transformation of the Abu Dhabi government. A comprehensive solution will be provided to automate and facilitate non-cash interactions between exhibitors and visitors for purchasing purposes. This entails building an integrated digital system.
