Abdulwahab Al-Rifai

Abdulwahab Abdullah Al-Sayyid Ali Al-Rifai (born January 22, 1973) is a multifaceted Kuwaiti novelist, writer, publisher, lecturer, and engineer.

He is among the first Kuwaiti, and perhaps Gulf, authors who have ventured into the realms of supernatural, science fiction, horror, and detective literature.

His writing career commenced in 1998 with a series of scientific and cultural articles for various Kuwaiti magazines and newspapers, leading to the publication of his first book in 1999.

In 2011, he founded the Kuwaiti publishing house, Nova Plus. Notably, some of his works have been adapted into short films available on YouTube, as well as feature-length films screened in Kuwaiti cinemas, such as “Apartment Six” and “Baby.”

He has also conducted over 65 workshops on the art of writing novels and short stories across most of the Gulf countries. His works are widely distributed in most Arab countries. In 2016, he was honored by the Emiri Diwan in Kuwait as one of the top 100 most creative Kuwaiti personalities.
