In a mesmerizing poetic showcase on the sidelines of the Jeddah Book Fair 2023. The evocative verses of classical Arabic poetry seamlessly interwove with the rustic charm of Nabati poetry. The distinguished poets, Mohammed Mathlouthi from Tunisia and Saudi Arabia’s Hamidi Thaqafi, left an indelible impression on the audience with a cascade of poems that resonated deeply.

The evening commenced with the mellifluous recitation of a classical Arabic ode by Mohammed Mathlouthi. Radiating gratitude, Mathlouthi extended warm greetings to the esteemed guests and expressed appreciation to King Salman bin Abdulaziz. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, for his transformative contributions to the Arab world. Mathlouthi skillfully traversed through verses extolling the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, commending the rapid metamorphosis the Crown Prince has ushered into the Kingdom. His poetic journey concluded with heartfelt thanks to the Ministry of Culture and the Literary, Publishing, and Translation Authority.

Hamidi Thaqafi then took the poetic reins. Serenading the audience with a Nabati masterpiece that vividly painted the essence of Taif. Through his verses, Thaqafi artfully depicted the city’s visage, the essence of daily life, and the intricate tapestry of its streets and alleys.
