UNESCO celebrates the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development on May 21st of each year. This observance aims not only to showcase the richness of world cultures but also to underscore the fundamental role of intercultural dialogue in achieving peace and sustainable development.

The cultural and creative sector stands as one of the most powerful drivers of development worldwide. According to UNESCO data, culture accounts for over 48 million jobs globally, with women comprising nearly half, representing 6.2% of total current employment and 3.1% of the global GDP. It is also the sector that employs and provides opportunities for the largest number of young people under the age of thirty.
