Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of the Makkah Region, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Academy of Arabic Poetry, sponsored the announcement of the winners of the Prince Abdullah bin Faisal Award for Arabic Poetry in its fifth season, in the presence of the Board of Trustees members.

Experimental Poetry Award:

Winner: Moroccan poet Abdelkarim Al-Tabal
Prize value: 500,000 Saudi Riyals

Poetry Collection Award:

Winner: Sudanese poetess Ibtihal Triter
Prize value: 100,000 Saudi Riyals

Theatrical Poetry Award:

Winner: Egyptian poet Mahmoud Abdullah Darwish Aqab, for his play “Tears from Abu Nawas’ Cup”
Prize value: 100,000 Saudi Riyals

Sung Poem Award:

Song/ “O My Killer”
Poetry: Mahdi Kamel Mansour (Lebanon)
Vocals: Faya Younan (Syria)
Prize value: 200,000 Saudi Riyals

Best Initiative in Serving Arabic Poetry Award:

Winner: Saudi magazine “Al-Yamama”
Prize value: 100,000 Saudi Riyals

Promising Poet Award – University Students:

Prize value: 60,000 Saudi Riyals

Student Abdullah Hazam Jaber Al-Harthy from the General Administration of Education in Taif.

 

The Prince Abdullah bin Faisal Award for Arabic Poetry is the first program launched by the Academy of Arabic Poetry, officially operating under the umbrella of Taif University, adding a new and qualitative dimension to cultural institutions in the Arab world. It aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which includes a special program to enhance the Saudi personality, focusing on its initiatives in Arabic language, culture, poetry, and civilization.
