Youssef El Sherif

Youssef El Sherif is a multi-talented Egyptian born in Cairo in 2000. His diverse roles include working as a literary editor and cover designer at “Al-Arabi for Publishing and Distribution,” along with contributions to “Al-Dostour” newspaper and “Alam Al-Kutub” magazine.

Youssef El Sherif notable works include:

  1. “Truth and Birth” (2019) – a compelling collection of short stories published by Faslah for Publishing and Distribution.
  2. “The Boxism” (2023) – an award-winning novel from Dar Al-Ain, securing the Sheikh Zayed Book Award in 2023. It also earned a nomination for the Kheiry Shalaby Award for the First Novel and maintained a consistent presence on bestseller lists throughout its debut year.
  3. “Youssef Shaheen: A Homeland’s Story” (2024) – an engaging autobiography delving into the life of filmmaker Youssef Shaheen and his cinematic achievements, published by Risha for Publishing and Distribution.

In Youssef’s pipeline is his translation of “The Age and Purpose of the Pyramids.. as Indicated by Sirius” by astronomer Mahmoud Bak. The Arabic edition, titled “الأهرامات والنجم سيريوس.. عمرها والغرض منها,” is scheduled for release by “Al-Arabi for Publishing and Distribution” in 2024.
