The Cairo International Book Fair witnessed a state of emergency today, Friday, during the much-anticipated Saudi Author Osama Al-Muslim Book Signing event. Hosted by the Arab Literature Center for Publishing and Distribution, the signing event for Al-Muslim’s works drew immense attention, leading to unexpected challenges.

Scheduled initially for Plaza 1, the event  faced a surge of enthusiastic attendees, resulting in a chaotic situation and confusion over the appropriate venue capable of accommodating the overwhelming crowd. In a last-minute decision, the event was relocated to Hall 2, Booth C36.

Beginning promptly at 2:00 PM, the Signing event continued until our departure from the fair at 6:00 PM, maintaining a consistently high level of attendance throughout the session.

The heightened demand for coupons to attend this event prompted an unforeseen influx of visitors to the publishing house responsible for Al-Muslim’s book. This surge led to the temporary suspension of book sales at their booth. An announcement via the fair’s microphones directed interested buyers to the dedicated a Signing booth located outside Hall 2.
