At the “Guest of Honor” hall in the Egypt International Exhibition Center, Dr. Nevin El-Kilany, the Egyptian Minister of Culture, awarded the winners of the Cairo International Book Fair 2024, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Bahy El-Din, President of the Egyptian General Book Organization; Mr. Said Abdo, President of the Egyptian Publishers Union; and Mr. Mohamed Rashad, President of the Arab Publishers Union.

The awards were distributed as follows:

Novel Category:

Mohamed Abdel Rahman Ibrahim El-Fakharany for his novel “Food in the Cook’s House”.

Short Story Category:

Habib Wael Saad Mohamed Siyam for his story “One Rose Would Have Been Enough”.

Colloquial Poetry:

Abdo El-Sayed Ahmed El-Masry for his collection “Life Wasn’t Any Sweeter”.

Classical Arabic Poetry:

Gamal Eldin Abdel Aziz El-Sabai El-Qassas for his collection “There Was Music Here”.

Children’s Literature:

Jointly awarded to Ahmed Abdel Naeim Mustafa El-Sayed for his book “Read, Draw and Color (The Hero of the Story City Totatota)” and Safaa Farid Abdel Aziz El-Baili for her book “My Friends.. A Poetry Anthology”.

Humanities and New Media:

Dr. Sherine Mohamed Ahmed Kadwani and Dr. Sherihan Mohamed Tawfiq Abdel Hafez for their book “Digital Media.. Legislation and Ethics of Publishing”.

Scientific Book (Artificial Intelligence):

Ehab Abdel Hamid Khalifa Abdel Aal for his book “Killer Algorithms”.

Literary Criticism:

Jointly awarded to Mohamed Ibrahim El-Sayed Abdel Aal for his book “Towards a Methodology of Cultural Editing in Literature”, and Hossam Gail Abdel Aati Zayed for his book “Textual Cohesion in Arab Poetry”.

Heritage Documentation:

Marwa Mohamed Ali El-Sherif for her book “Dictionary of Traditional Pharmaceutical Terms”.

Arts Category:

Mahmoud Mahmoud Mohamed Kassem for his book “Science, Cinema, and Imagination”.

Best Translated Book:

Valiska Huber, translated by Mohamed Sabri Mohamed Youssef, titled “Directing the Movement through Maritime Channels.. Migration and Globalization in the Suez Canal Region and Beyond”.

Best Translated Book for Children:

Lucy Hawking and Stephen Hawking, translated by Ahmed Samir Saad Ibrahim, titled “George’s Secret Key to the Universe”.

Best Egyptian Publisher:

Beit El Hekma (House of Wisdom) for Cultural Industries, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed El-Said Soliman.

Best Arab Publisher:

Jointly awarded to Dar Al-Roaq for Publishing and Distribution (Egypt), Hany Mohamed Abdullah Abdel Jawad, and Dar Al-Mutawassit for Publishing and Distribution (Milan), Khaled Sulaiman Al-Nasseri.

It is noteworthy that the closing day’s events included the announcement of selecting the Sultanate of Oman as the guest of honor for the next 56th edition of the Cairo International Book Fair 2025.
